I've already played through all four parts of MicroMacro - does the mobile game have the same cases?
Of course not!
We have designed brand new cases in a completely new city for MicroMacro: Downtown Detective, that also take advantage of the unique possibilities of a mobile game.
Is MicroMacro: Dowtown Detective a simple search or hidden object game?
No. The special thing about MicroMacro is that the characters can be seen at different locations on the map at different points in time.
This allows us to tell complex stories. You get to know the suspects, find out where they live, who they might be working with and deduce which place you should probably take a closer look at next.
Can I try out the game for free?
You can download the game and play the first three cases for free!
After that, you can unlock the full game via an one-time in-app-purchase.
We deliberately decided to completely do without advertisements and other annoying stuff.
What languages is MicroMacro: Downtown Detective available in?
English and German are available at launch, with more languages coming soon.
French, Spanish, and Italian translations are already in the works.
By the way: To change the language, open the main menu (pause button in the top right corner), tap on “settings,” then “change language,” and select a language.
Is MicroMacro: Downtown Detective playable on iPad (and other tablets)?
Yes! It plays really well on an iPad or tablet too.
Will there be additional content after I finish the main game?
If, like us, you can't get enough of MicroMacro: Downtown Detective, we are planning to release further expansion packs that will expand the city and offer new cases and game features.
Stay tuned for exciting news coming soon!
I reinstalled the game or changed my phone, and my purchase of the unlock is no longer recognized.
Where can I restore my purchase?
In the main menu (pause button at the top right of the screen) under the “settings” menu item, there is a button to restore your purchases.
How big is the city map?
Initially, the city map is smaller than in the board game. The more cases you solve, the more districts you unlock. In this way, you get to know the city better and better.
Later in the game, the city is even bigger than in the board game. This allows for really complex puzzles.
How close can I zoom in to the city?
In Downtown Detective, you can zoom in really close to the map. For example, you can examine details on a suspect's clothing or find the tiniest clues at a crime scene.
Is there a multiplayer mode?
We deliberately designed MicroMacro: Downtown Detective as a single-player game.
However, we are considering exciting possibilities for introducing multiplayer features in the future. We have a few ideas up our sleeves, so stay tuned!
Will there be mini-games?
As we believe that good criminal cases should be solved by looking closely and combining cleverly, there will be no interruption by mini-games within the "main cases".
In addition to the tricky cases, however, there are a few more casual activities and shorter cases.
Is the game appropriate for children?
Although there are no explicit depictions of violence in the game, in many cases it does feature murder, relationship drama and other allusions to "adult themes".
We have found that most children aged 10 and older can cope with this type of crime story, but of course children's personalities and emotional development can vary greatly.
If you're not sure, play it yourself first and then decide whether you want to play it with your children.
I'm stuck in a case - what can I do?
Maybe you missed it in the tutorial: A wise yogi is meditating on the beach. Tap him to receive a hint if you get stuck.
